I'm doing this the other way round. Flying into SYD from NRT, and then connecting on to MEL. Was delighted to find out that as my NRT-SYD sector is in business I'll be able to use the domestic lounge at SYD T3, even though that leg is in Y.

Thanks as well for the confirmation above that on arrival from another country I'll need to collect my bags and recheck them for the next legs - wasn't sure whether they'd be able to send them through directly.

Lastly - on timings, do you think a 2 hour 10 minute connection is enough time to collect bags, clear immigration & customs, make the T1-T3 transfer, check in and have a shower at T3?
