About 20 CX flights recently, half of which were not in the highest cabin; travelling with wife who is WP and, though it is meaningless, I have Sapphire on two airlines; not a single op up, despite many likely situations (oversold Y cabins, empty J/F cabins).

Particularly disappointed to miss out on the SIN-HKG leg a couple of times like trooper, on the new 777-300ERs. I believe MPC DMs may get the opportunity to go for these seats, but they do sell an F cabin on those flights too, even though the loads were low to nothing on our flights.

It's been mentioned elsewhere (on the CX forum) that CX has stopped giving non-MPC Emeralds preferential treatment. We flew CX in late April and again in early May, and over the course of those two sets of flights, you could already see it - from being singled out and given a personal welcome in even the Y cabin, to absolutely nothing, even in J (conspicuous due to the greetings still being offered to MPC DMs). A shame, as despite the lack of op ups, we've received some of the best service we've ever had on CX.

My advice - absolutely don't expect it, especially based on your frequent flyer status. In the incredibly unlikely even that you get lucky, be thankful and enjoy it, but don't get used to it!
