Regarding the above post that mentions using more 777s, I think airport capacity at peak periods needs to be considered along with schedule convenience, which would play a role in choosing an aircraft type. An airline like SQ can fly 380s into NRT to meet demand and market, while at the same time NH can fly a 500 pax 777 300 to meet a similar demand to NRT on a domestic market.
