ORDnHKG you hit the nail on the head. I would like to go to macau, but i do not want to miss out on sightseeing in HK. I have been to Vegas many many times.

I guess the heart of the question is given my limited time in HK would I miss out on too much sightseeing in HK by heading to macau for 10 hours or so?

I was leaning towards the regency over the grand Hyatt, but based on the maps the GH seems to be in a better location. Is this true? I don't mind public transportation, in fact i enjoy it however there is a happy medium between a new cheaper hotel that is in a terrible location and an older more expensive one in the middle of town.

I am leaning more and more towards the Regency as it is much cheaper, is it "out of the way?"
