I stayed there last August for 3 nights. Great public areas. The hallways are a bit dated but the rooms are up-to-date. Obviously it is a older hotel but other than hallways that need new carpet, I didn't find anything to complain about.

I guess I would give it a shot. It will be just a short one-night stay there. Plus I'm using the free night cert, which I don't think I would have a chance to use it if I don't use it this time. All my trips till Feb 11 have been booked and I don't plan to go to anywhere with a Fairmont by then.
If there is anyone else with poor recent experience there, please post or PM.
