Fischer -- thanks for the info on the AAVacations -- but WHAT a convoluted process!

Thought surely AA had caught up and done simple certificates for hotel stays. Why ever not?!

Oh well -- will indeed check out tranferring the AA points to a hotels program. Is there a "transfer" option on the AA website for this? I know Starwood SPG has one.

So much easier with Qantas, points for domestic hotel or car hire no probbie -- yes, not great points value (25,000 for a Four Points), but do-able.
