I'm always truthful on specific questions. I just don't make it a practice to volunteer information they do not specifically request. If you are a US Citizen, Mexican immigration does stamp your passport before you can even check in at TIJ and again on any international arrival at either TIJ or MEX so an examination of my passport would tell the whole story, but the computer doesn't.
