Had the same issue, had 2 awards and planned trip MDW to MCO last week of June for family of 4. Got a great fare for return on July 4, but could only get 2 award seats on June 27 (mid morning). Checked back a month later and found 2 more seats available for same June 27 flight. Changed to award for and banked the fare credit.
