I assume you would realise something had happened after the plane had crashed into the ground, and you would then remove your headphones, before gracefully exiting your seat.
If sitting in Y in the window seat during an emergency how pleases are you going to be if you find that the person in the middle or aisle seat has headphones on/watching a movie? If they have no idea something is wrong and dont move fast enough it could end up costing you your life!
I would rather know when to take emergency action that could save my and others lives than not. YMMV
