Hawaii service isn't great, but nevertheless make sure you're on a 767 from either ORD, DFW, or LAX (note: some LAX-HNL flights use 757's). Supposedly AA was using 3-class 767's on some flights to HNL out of LAX as opposed to the normal Hawaii config'd 2-class 767's, but I believe they've since ended that or it's ending sometime this spring.
