In your case - you're not entitled to "bed guarantee" points - since you were never able to book into the bed type you "want" in the first place. This is only for those Plats & Diamonds who booked a particular bed type but was not honored at check-in.
Thanks for the info. I thought that's how it worked. There are so many different ways to accumulate points, it's amazing!
