Agreed. If you are just picking the best flight, it might make sense to allow additional connection time, esp. if making that connection is urgently important.
If - on the other hand - you are just trying to take advantage of a good fare that shows the 40 min. connection for March - if it were me, I would BOOK IT! As noted above, chances are likely the connection time will either get somewhat longer - or somewhat shorter (in which case, you can have them redo the schedule).
