Wow. If a chairman cannot get upgrades, there is definitely a problem. I am Silver (used to be a Chairman at some point). My wife is Gold. We are having really hard time getting any upgrades (None this year!). I am reconsidering flying US Airways because of the upgrade issues. On our last trip to SAN, we have called the customer service three days in advance (Gold Upgrade Window) and have been told verbatim: 'Yes, there are physical seats available, but they are for sale only, not for upgrades.' I am afraid that US Air is misleading its elites on 'the most generous upgrade program' by instituting a capacity control. It is sad to read that the most elite passengers, Chairmen, do not get upgrades.

I have been having the same problem since January. I have called US Airways 3 times and it still has not been corrected. In the past 3 months I have not gotten a single upgrade which is a little crazy considering I am a Chairman and when I was Silver I was getting upgrades on almost every flight.
