Flew from JFK last night on BA174 - we boarded on time, but it was then announced there would be "a significant delay" before we took off, due to a combination of the JFK runway refurbishment and strong winds, which had reduced JFK to a single runway.

The delay turned out to be 4 hours of sitting at JFK with the occasional bit of taxiing.! I'm very glad I was in CW, we were kept well topped up with booze and some of the food service was done on the ground. Great job from the crew. Not sure what happened in economy.

We picked up an hour along the way and landed 3 hours late this morning.
