What's basically happening at the moment is that northerly winds are dragging the ash down the Eastern side of the Atalantic, and where it meets the more normal southwesterly winds the ash gets blown back across the contintent. I think the prediction at the moment for next week is that the ash will more likely come directly towards NW Europe rather than this, so it's probably the more northerly airports that will experience delays and cancellations.
