Hi. I swear by the Tumi backpacks. They're a fortune, but they're built like iron, and last forever. I'd still be using my first one - ten years later - except that I got a 15.4 screen that was too big.

Right now, I'm using the the Alpha T-Pass business class backpack. I've had it for a little over a year, and love it. The side saddles hold cameras, phones and adapters; the two front pouches are perfect for quick access to a passport and travel docs. And the T-Pass compartment is a breeze for going through security. (In case you're not familiar with this, the laptop sits in a separate zippered compartment inside the backpack. At TSA security theater, you unzip the backpack in half, and the notebook goes through the scanner without having to remove it from the case. This works throughout America, but not overseas. I still have to pull the notebook out of the bag at Heathrow, Beijing, Hong Kong and Singapore, to name a few that I've been through.)

Here's a link to the bag. http://www.tumi.com/product/product-...Terms=backpack

Again, it's a fortune. But having briefly had a targus bag between Tumi's, the thing was wasted in two years. In the long run, you'll save by spending more upfront.
