Res agent accidentally drops my BF u/g waitlist (EWR-HKG) "Sorry-can't help you."

I am hoping someone has advice for me on how to get the right players at CO to fix this. Basic situation is I lost my place in line on the waitlist for EWR-HKG (16 hr flight) because the agent making a change to my ticket didn't know what he was doing, and accidentally canceled me from the waitlist (which I spent 16 days on without clearing).

Situation: I bought a RT B-fare DCA-HKG for 5/21-5/31, and waitlisted for u/g at time of ticketing (Apr 21). Return from HKG 5/31 looks very bad for clearing the u/g waitlist, so I found a confirmable u/g seat via PEK-EWR. I call CO Elite line to change my ticket. I'm prepared to pay $250 chg fee, plus fare diff (in this case $204), and get fr HKG to PEK on my own.

Agent takes 45 minutes to do this transaction, so I know I'm in trouble about 20 minutes into the call, but (foolishly) I hang in with him. Early in the call, I asked him to ensure this transaction would not disturb my waitlist on the outbound, since I booked 2 1/2 weeks ago and didn't want to lose my place in the queue.

He finishes the transaction almost 50 minutes into the call (8X on hold, several minutes each), collects the money, and I ask about my waitlist. He says, "Its ther....wait, no, its not. Let me...let me just put it back in..." and he erases 16 days of waiting time on the waitlist. "Sorry - I can't restablish your place in line."

[The problem, of course, is waitlists clear by Elite level, then fare class, then date/time of purchase. I'm Plat on B-fare. I spent 16 days ON the waitlist without clearing, and now I look to the computer like I just waitlisted today May 8, so I lost those 16 days to any other Plat who booked between Apr 21 and May 8.]

I ask to have a supervisor join us on the line, and one does. She's very nice, tries contacting others within CO tonight, but comes back on the line very apologetic and - not surprisingly - cannot reestablish my position on the waitlist because they can't see anything inside the waitlist. She offered me the WE-CARE line for Monday morning.

QUESTION - HELP REQUESTED:
What should I do to get this rectified? I'm not on a rant, not going to "make heads roll", not "going to quit CO", etc. I just want someone who can set this right. I will PM Scott, if I need to. FTers - any advice?
