This is clearly a case when someone was not doing his/her job. I don't understand the throwing the baby out with the bath water mentality, but I forget that the goal in this board is to trash TSA at every turn.

TSA realized the breech occurred, took action to locate the passenger and make sure nothing else got through. The officers connected to this were removed from screening duties. I don't know what else is expected. Fire them? Well, if they were negligent or otherwise in gross violation of procedure, sure.

And, for the record, I disagree with the so-called security expert's opinion that airport security screening is no better than it was on September 10th. But it makes great press.

Finally, and this is just me, outdated footage of TSA screeners is sloppy journalism. I'm picky that way because tele-journalism is a video media. Every detail needs to be accurate or, to put it another way, how information is depicted affects how it is received and interpreted. Doesn't take away from the fact that a breech occurred, but it questions the thoroughness of the journalistic research. This is just one of my pet peeves. I've been jaded against the news media ever since I first encountered its way of fabricating stories a long time ago in a place called Grenada.
