I did the tour last year. They weren't very strict and there were only 3 of us that took the tour. The key is to make it on time. The JFK flight arrives around 930am if on time. The full day tour leaves at 9am and the half day tour at noon so if you can get to the hotel desk by noon I would still try to take the tour and don't think that they would give you a hard time about it.
Thanks for the reply, I actually wanted to do the day trip because i think you'll visit more fascinating places such as the blue mosque. But i do understand that i won't make it on time. I just hope i can get to the hotel desk before noon.(btw how did you find the tour?) I'll be travelling with a hand carry do you know any places where i can leave it?
