Nevada1K: I have been trying to research
UA vouchers and since I am very familiar with
AA vouchers I have been comparing the two.
Since you use UA vouchers a lot, can you
tell me if I have made a mistake in
these points about UA vs AA vouchers?
- Cannot combine UA vouchers from 2 different bumps for the same ticket.
- Do not receive a balance amt if you use
part of a voucher (and hence cannot use this
method to extend a big amt voucher past an expiry date)
- Cannot use UA voucher for lounge membership, upgrades, etc.
- Have to pay taxes on the UA vouchers.
- UA vouchers cannot be used on web fares
- UA vouchers cannot be extended past the
expiry date through purchase of refundable
fullfare ticket which can later be exchanged for the ticket for the trip you want to take.
Unfortunately, I could not come up with any
point where UA vouchers are better than AA
vouchers. Can you suggest any ?
