He's not doing a mileage run... he'll be at DME in transit with connecting ticket in hand... big difference from doing a mileage run.
DME has boosted it's image and services over the past years based on it being a major go-between for Asia and Europe. The OP's situation is a very, very common occurance at DME and should experience no other issues other then potential boredom.
