Just returned from a short little visit. I have mostly good things to say about this hotel. First- it's probably the best value we've ever had in Hawaii. Yes, our room was a bit "tired" and it was pretty much a standard Sheraton room- but it had a large private lanai with gorgeous white water ocean views directly over the manta rays- which were really amazing to watch every evening.
I'm on a SPG Hawaii mailing list for travel professionals. Their email today about this property included the following suggestion for travel agents:
Tip: Book the Ocean Front category and send an email request to the Hotel, so your guests can view Manta rays from their private lanai each evening after sunset.
When we were there a few years ago, we did a night dive with the manta rays at a site up near the airport. It remains one of our highlight diving experiences! (This is not a dive for introductory-level divers, though.)
