The TSA didn't notice the security snafu until supervisors were reviewing recordings of a checkpoint X-ray machine and realized the ammo and magazine could be on board one of the three flights.

Or pretty much anywhere in the airport.
Get through, realize you have them, stick them under a cushion someplace.

Really how safe is it to just check the plane?

Who knew they actually reviewed the recordings too?
