I'll echo the issue with the water temperature in the shower in a suite on the 3rd floor...
The suite I was upgraded to was really wonderful...
The breakfast seems a bit lackluster but was plentiful. I couldn't place my thumb on what is missing at breakfast. Free breakfasts for Plats always scores points though. I wouldn't have paid for the breakfast. I'd have just grabbed something outside somewhere....
I was at this hotel in Oct 2007. I had the same interview with the GM, the exact same issues with temperature control in the shower, and a wonderful and very much appreciated suite upgrade. At the time the breakfast seemed fantastic to me, with real freshly squeezed juices and lots of other goodies. Nonetheless, I had to insist with the GM in the interview that it should be comped to Platinum guests; he was offering a 50% discount. I don't recall any internet problems, but one expected less efficient internet in 2007.
This is a great hotel, but given the temperature outside, guests will want lots of showers, and the unpredictable behavior of the shower can therefore turn out to be a major source of irritation. The GM might do well to turn his attention to this problem.
