I think I am putting a fairly good use to those MR points. After AA's departure from MR, I will have a harder time using those MR points from the MVC membership, so I want to burn them as soon as I see good opportunity.

for the Sheraton Tower. I will just keep my * points and use those at the Westin Macau or W Hong Kong during the same trip.
I ended up going with SPG, but the other one in town.

I found out the RC did not have award availability on the dates I want. Neither did the Conrad. So I made a two-day reservation with St. Regis for 24,000 points, although ONLY the executive deluxe with 1 bed is available for redemption. I then sent them an email detailing the special trip with my dad, how much I wanted to stay there, and mentioned Flyertalk. Within three hours I got a response from St. Regis indicating I got the category upgrade to Grande Deluxe with two beds. ^ to the property for its responsiveness.

I figure out I will most likely get an upgrade at check-in anyway, but I want to be sure I will have the room I wanted (a room with two beds). I got what I wanted, and SPG kept my business. ^
