It's been many years since I've received a true upgraded room. I haven't noticed much difference in treatment as a gold vs. diamond. I agree with all of jabez's comments. While I also like HGIs, some newer Hamptons are almost as good. Hilton and Priceline have become my secondary programs, when I can't find a Hyatt.
