We recently had our first orange tags on a JFK-LAX flight. We were in coach, we are gold, we both got orange tags and our bags came down the ramp in the first 5 bags, all of which were orange tagged.

On my return flight, LAX-JFK, I had no tags and my bags were DEAD LAST off the belt. I stood there with three other elites waiting for our bags as everyone else left with their bags.

Is it seating related, or status related or airport related or agent related? I can't figure it out from the posts here.
