This is actually one of my pet peeves within the oneworld. I found that the premium tags work quite well when retrieving my bags with Aer Lingus and British Airways as my final leg.

But when I come back and they (BA and EI) are my first leg, they have a slightly different color (especially Aer Lingus) and AA does not seem to reciprocate with their tags. I've been in ORD and DFW customs watching one orange tag after another go by, and then my Aer Lingus Premium tag comes out in the middle of all of the "non-premium" luggage.
