I sometimes get suites as Hiltons, but rare and not a corporate benefit.
The Doubletree's desire to charge for a late check-out is hotel specific (as is "recognition"). While not a published HH benefit, I believe most are more helpful.

Code:
Hilton is only good for small markets where there are no SPG or Hyatt properties.
I differ with the "only." Since your question was not about SPG or Hyatt, I'll address the long time runnuing debate, "Marriot or Hilton?"

I've been top tier at Marriot (and others) and still stay with HH because:
1.Lot's of properties in all marketplaces.
2.HGI's are ,IMHO, the best hotel "bang for the buck."
3.Free breakfasts -this can be especially huge when traveling with wife.
4.Very good European properties for point redemoptions (and use of lounges in same).
HH's recent willingness to open up the bonus free night certificates (versus almost nothing for many recent years) makes it even easier.
Are they what they used to be? No, but I do think they match up with Mariott and SPG very well.
By the way, most Doubletree's suck.
