LAX to SFO $69

Can I go with the latter plan? Check in at PHL for the entire route, but when I get to LAX...instead of getting onto the connecting flight from LAX to SF..just leave?
Some one else has already answered. As long as this is a one-way ticket and you don't check bag, you are OK.

BTW, who pay $800 (OR $500) to fly PHL-LAX these days?! Is it first class? You can fly Southwest for a much less fare any time before the flight but then you won't get MP credit.
