Get to the airport early to get an airport controlled seat. You may be able to snag an exit row as elites are getting moved upfront. If you don't and the flight is oversold you may be the one to go. Of course, if you would like a bump to get compensation then show up about 45 minutes out. Although, there you may risk being assigned a middle seat.
