Thank you for your reply. I would probably make 1K anyway by this September, but I am planning some award trips to Europe this summer, as well as another routine award trip to Asia this Christmas. My schedule is still uncertain now and award inventory is changing day by day. I would like to reserve my spots as soon as possible. Also, it would be a hassle to return my 1K friend's miles since he would probably not use the same amount as I did, so we have to figure out another way. In a word, award trips are my primary motivation to become 1K ASAP.
Besides, the standby fee from 4/28 is another reason for me to reach 1K ASAP, so that I could have free confirmed standby seats within 3 hour of departure later, as well as free unconfirmed gate standby.
I know it is not worth spending too much additional money just to reach 1K ASAP, so I set up an upper limit at 4cpm. My usual MR is around 3-3.5cpm. Though I am based in Chicago area, I do not mind relocating, especially if I could do back-to-back sameday return MR and ideally routed via ORD. Are there any chances to achieve the goal?
Thanks again!

How much is this worth to you, since you've already used another 1Ks miles to do so? Looks like you're easily on pace to make 1K anyway this year. For the money you're considering shelling out, you could pay to change/cancel award tickets several times.
Am I missing something here?
