Until later 2009, I have never missed out on an ug on a full fare. And then it started. Big time. These days, getting an ug on a B fare as a lowly 1K MM is winning the raffles. It may work now and then.

UA is great if I have to carry lots of heavy luggage ... but then it doesn't matter at all what booking class I am in.
