Does NZ make it a practice to weigh carryon bags? Im doing the same flight from SIN to CHC but then connecting to a NZ C class ticket to SYD and then a separate Y class ticket on Virgin Blue to MEL...Im worried about having two heavy (but normal sized carryons). Probably will be fine on the NZ sector, but Im worried about Virgin Blue.

On another note, how early can one check in for their NZ connection when arriving on the SQ morning flight from SIN. I have 8 hours and am hoping to have a shower and work in the Koru lounge before departure to SYD, but am worried they may not let me airside until a few hours before the flight. Any thoughts? Also, does SQ provide any arrival lounge or connection assistance at CHC?
