It seems that the city and CO have not been doing much talking as of late.
When the London flight got axed, city leaders were suppose to meet with CO
to discuss how to help restore the London flight and also the future of the CLE hub.
This week I have been reading on-line the newspapers in Chicago and Houston as well as Cleveland to their reaction to the CO-UA merger. It a big win for Chicago and of course the press coverage has been very good. In
Houston, the reactions are totally opposite and CO management is being grilled big time for their decision to merge with UA. In Cleveland, the coverage goes in both directions. The Houston press seems to be much
harder on CO the Cleveland despite what CLE may loose.
All of us who have been loyal CO customers for the past years have seen for the most part packed airplanes and a busy airport terminal but not congested. The decision on what to do with CLE could have gone eaither way. CLE could have been expanded under the CO-UA merger but that does not look like is going to happen.
Evidently CO bought a full page ad in the Houston Chronicle that was an open letter from Jeff about how much he loves Houston blah blah blah but that there were going to be some cuts. Houston people are NOT pleased right now.
