And does this only work if there is NF space available @ 120hr? If it goes to airport control is there any chance at upgrade?
I've done it with the wife already and an email from the GS folks clarified this as I wasn't sure myself. We didn't clear on the return till at the gate and were #1 on the upgrade list. Outbound cleared at the 120 hour mark after a quick phone call. To be honest I don't recall if there was any NF space or not as i don't really keep track of that kind of stuff.
The only issue is having to ring them at the 120hr window as it's not automatically done for you.
