I guess I got the defensive responses I expected. My favorite stock reply is the "have you ever been out of Times Square touristy area?" one.

I am pretty aggressive in complaining when I think I've been wronged, but the Burger Bar environment was just not conducive to that. Of course I won't be back, but my posting was more about why all the other people who go there keep returning to it and places like it.

Still only 9pm, so you haven't eaten yet. There are no options out by the rather grim, sterile complex wherein lies the 4S. As someone noted above, there are likely a few choices if you have a car and venture down University Avenue to the main business district of Palo Alto. Palo Alto is a university town but still the sidewalks get rolled up way sooner than I think they should.
