I'm tired of, "Put up with {overcharging, rudeness, etc} because it's NYC"

Today, remembering some mention in this forum, I was passing the Parker Meridian and decided to try the Burger Bar.

$14.50 for a cheeseburger, fries, and small soft drink (no refills). If you want water, too bad, they don't provide water except bottled water. They overcooked my burger. It's all self-service, they snap at you, but of course also have a large bucket for tips. The burger and fries were better than MickeyD's, but three times as good?

NYC is filled with places like this and apparently when anyone visiting complains, the answer is always the same, "It's New York, if you live here you deal with it, so you can too."

I like this city, I like coming here, but someone needs to tell you residents: you should get mad as hell and not put up with getting ripped off, insulted, etc, any more! Things can be changed.
