Was it a free companion certificate, or a $99 one? $358 minimum fare?

Living in NYC, those certificates rarely end up being a good value for me, the fare I have to buy plus $99 ends up being more expensive than buying two tickets. My parents, on the other hand, do pretty well with them since they fly out of an expensive airport.
