Good call, I completely forgot about that. the other thing to remember is that you need a four digit pin for alot of places in Europe. So make sure your pin is exactly 4 digits.
And the last bit of advice, this had me confused quite a bit at the start of the trip, the english translation on the ATMs for debit withdrawals will say "Cash Advance" and it will use the Visa network (well my debit check card is Visa, might say mastercard if that is appropriate for your card). But rest assured, its not an actual cash advance it is just a poor translation. I did not get hit w/ any additional fees or weird rules as i would normally have for a cash advance.
Also, for whatever reason, the ATM that is just outside of T3 when you land in Rome just wouldn't give me any money. I couldn't figure out why and it had me quite worried as I was relying on the debit card for cash. However, once I got to Rome Termini station and tried another ATM there, everything worked fine. Not sure if the ATM at the airport was just having a bad day or what ...
