YVR is to BLI as LAX is to BUR/LGB.
Most of us FTers would agree that there are many reasons why small airports are preferable (easier & cheaper parking, less traffic around the airport, faster curb to gate time, smaller security lineups, etc). Also, up until April 8 when you flew from Canada to the US your allowable carry on was severely restricted (thanks to the Christmas day bombing attempt) which effectively required that you check luggage.
Even if that weren’t enough it’s not much better flying into YVR. The last flight to YVR is 11:00 PM while the previous one is 6:25 PM. Since a SEA-YVR is an international connection you need at least an hour for a valid connection through SEA. So if I land at 6:00 PM and traveling to YVR I’m still sitting for 5 hours.
I could drive (and have) to SEA and that would avoid the long layover but then I would have to fight my way through Seattle traffic. Also, I am usually flying out on the 5:20 AM flight from BLI-SEA. I would hate to have to try to get through Seattle morning traffic to catch a flight at SEA. Trust me, it's not 90 minutes.
