You should be able to order an electric cart in advance to meet you at your arrival gate. This is especially convenient if you have a tight connection. Between the F and D concourses there are shops and a food cart; frequently this area is very congested, so that it can be frustrating to try to walk through here quickly if you have luggage. There's a large SkyClub that you will pass at the terminal end of the F concourse. It has lavatories (just behind the F entrance desk) with some very spacious stalls--probably easier to use with a broken leg than the lavs on board.
Other areas of MSP have moving walkways: the C concourse, the G concourse (narrower), and the concourse inside security that connects high G with high C (and A/B) at the back of the parking garage (called ramp in MN). There's a landside train in the basement from the light rail station at the back of the parking ramp to the terminal and an airside tram than runs along the C concourse from the terminal to the A and B concourses.
