Being on the other side, I can only speculate. The aircraft used for ZRH/878 is often a turn from a YVR flight requiring a tow to International from Domestic - arriving at the gate with minimal time. Sometimes it is fully groomed and catered, sometimes partially, and sometimes not. I have to believe that your success rate of receiving a ground beverage far exceeds not receiving one.
