That was a nice advantage (on top of lower status qualification thresholds) for those who live outside of France.

I can't find the tables with how many miles it costs to redeem an award ticket depending on where from / where to... apparently now they're offering only a mileage calculation tool
As I remember, both CDG-NRT and JFK-CDG-NRT were the same at 60K. They are now still the same, but at 80K. Note that you cannot stopover in CDG on a one-way ticket, but can do one stopover on a return ticket. These used to be the stopover rules, and they seems to remain valid.
