Long-hauls [awards] no longer cheaper if flown via CDG from outside of Europe?

Ok I admit this is a confusing post title.

It used to be that a CDG-Tokyo would cost (I think) 80k in business, but a e.g. JFK-CDG-TYO would be only 60k!
That was a nice advantage (on top of lower status qualification thresholds) for those who live outside of France.

Not anymore? Or am I missing something?

I can't find the tables with how many miles it costs to redeem an award ticket depending on where from / where to... apparently now they're offering only a mileage calculation tool
