I don't understand why tickets aren't sold as they are for sporting events. The airlines should sell them at the price to sell out and make money and whoever ends up with the tickets gets to fly.

Why does it need to be sold and tied to a name? Why complicate matters? They should be sold as a one time item and that's it. If you can't make the flight you sell or give the ticket away.
