Haha, sorry I was a little unclear and no beer is not very good for breakfast.

I just meant that I would drink a beer out of the minibar the night before if I wasn't planning on eating breakfast the next morning.

The charge for the beer was in lieu of the charge for breakfast, but the beer itself was not in lieu of the breakfast itself.
