Most airports I have been thru lately have a sign directing you to it. (I have not been thru Brussels yet)
If no directional sign can be found, cut the line for the baggage drop off and ask the quick question. There is usually no line at the "stamping" counter.
In addition, at large stations (or at least STN), they have separate counters depending on where one is going. If you are running late, they IME are relatively accommodating in getting you to the front.
