If you have fairly deep pockets then I have to recommend Patrick Guilbaud at the Merrion Hotel [www.restaurantpatrickguilbaud.ie] for an evening of fine dining. It is expensive (even over priced) but for self indulgence it does have a special place in my heart. If that looks a bit much then I should also recommend booking for afternoon tea in the drawing rooms at the Merrion Hotel itself. It is essential to book in advance for this as its extremely popular. Its the full silver service, little dainties and fine champagne (if you wish) in the grand drawing rooms with open fires and the Merrion Art collection to look at.
