I would not call it laughable, but wiring $2-5K really won't get you noticed at the Wynn. Not even sure why you'd go through the trouble of sending such a small amount in advance. The TSA won't hassle you unless you have above $10K .

If you're uncomfortable carrying larger amounts of cash, either establish a line of credit with the casino (pretty easy), or ask your bank/CU to raise your daily ATM limit to $1000.

If you're looking to get comped, use your Red card religiously, stick to the Wynn for all gambling (hopping dilutes your play) and follow Johnlathropa's excellent advice above.

The Wynn is at the top of the food chain. If you drop down to one of the more, ahem, "Chevy" casinos (like Bally's, Monte Carlo, or Flamingo), your comp dollars will go a lot further, and your $2-5K will get you noticed.
